Senator Joe Robach’s office just announced that the New York Conference of Italian-American State Legislators is currently accepting applications from residents of the 56th Senate District, which includes parts of the Towns of Brighton, Greece, Parma and the majority of the City of Rochester for their annual scholarship. The deadline for submission is Friday, May 4 and winners will be awarded their scholarships in June at the group’s Annual Conference.

According to Joe Robach’s office, this year, the Italian-American State Legislators Conference will be awarding one academic and one athletic scholarship of $1,500. The scholarships are available to high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students. Eligibility will be based upon a student’s grade-point average, an interest in pursuing a higher education, involvement in the local community as well as individual financial need.

Applications can be obtained by contacting Joe Robach’s district office. Please mail or hand deliver completed applications to the District Office on West Ridge Road in the Town of Greece.
